For Norwegian registered vehicles, the product ParkPayLater is selected if the parking has not been paid within 48 hours after parking has ended. An invoice is sent to the owner of the vehicle. The product has a fixed price + the ordinary parking rate and invoice fee. ParkPayLater is only an option for Norwegian-registered vehicles.
What is the ParkPayLater product?
ParkPayLater is a product that allows you to park without having to do anything on site. The vehicle’s license plate is automatically registered by camera on entry and exit. Parking time starts automatically on entry and ends automatically on exit. The vehicle owner will receive an invoice afterwards and thereby also deferred payment. ParkPayLater is a product paid for by customers who choose to use the product and have not used other payment options.
How much does ParkPayLater cost?
ParkPayLater has a fixed price of NOK 39 per parking session and is paid by the user/owner of the vehicle. When invoiced, an invoice fee of NOK 12.50 per invoice incl. VAT is also charged.
What is the difference between ParkPayLater and the invoice fee?
Before April 1, 2024, part of the system costs related to customers who chose the postpaid service option were included in our invoice and administration fee.
Since the new Financial Agreements Act (Finansavtaleloven) came into effect in 2023, the Consumer Authorities (Forbrukertilsynet) has clarified, through decisions particularly in the telecommunications sector, their interpretation of § 2-4 of the act. It has become clear that only the actual costs related to issuing and sending invoices may be included in an invoice fee. This was previously somewhat unclear.
However, we know that many customers value the option of postpaid service, which is why we have chosen to continue offering this option as the product ParkPayLater. The price of the product is set, among other things, to cover our specific system costs and labor involved in providing ParkPayLater. The invoice fee covers our actual costs for issuing and sending an invoice related to the use of ParkPayLater.
